It has been a while since I have posted and many things have happened - some good and some bad.
I started working in October. I make minimum wage working part time in Papa John's. I am fairly happy with this being my first job. I bought a laptop just this weekend.=]
Job Corps has officially screwed all of 75/300 people that are in their program over. The only criteria that they ever discussed with us was good grades and passing a drug test and a TAPE test. Now, we have to have low income, be homeless, have a family member that is disabled, or be a foster child. Therefore, they are throwing 75 of us out of the program and omitting all of our benefits that they promised us, which so happened to be two years of college in any field that I would like, 1200$ upon completion of high school or completion of college (depending what time that you leave the program), 20-50$ every two weeks, and 100$ every 5-6 months for clothes that look professional.
I have full intentions of suing them for false advertisement, and I'm also thinking that I can get something for them just now kicking me out seems to were 1.) they wasted my time 2.) scholarships and school deadlines are coming to an end to apply for 3.) they had already accepted me into the program and it's their own fault for not double checking to begin with - I was promised those things and I expect to receive them 4.) they told us earlier in the year that we would be receiving only 1 year of college instead of two because of miscommunication and promised that there would be no more problems and that we were in the program for good. So... again. False Advertisement. Not to mention about 60/80 other kids that are being kicked out are also angry and suing them.
I have finals today and tomorrow and a Christmas thing all weekend..
So I am off to study... or to play on facebook. haha.
